by Ron Padgett, George Schneeman
This book, originally a one-of-a-kind collaboration, is a near perfect example of classic New York School spontaneity hitting fierce intellect. A facsimile limited-edition book by Ron Padgett and George Schneeman, Yodeling is a miscellany of handwritten stanzas, found text, drawing, empasto, and images from pollyanna advertisements, dimple-cheeked children's books, wallpaper swatches, personal photos, and charming illustrations. Schneeman's signature nervy refinement meets what Tom Clark described as Padgett's "Audacity and grace go[ing] hand in hand with heady rumination, deadpan wit and a thrilling, slightly sinister proclivity for the unexpected."
Yodeling into a Kotex was first created as a one-of-a-kind book by Padgett and Schneeman in 1969. This facsimile edition was produced during the late autumn and winter of 2002. Inkjet prints of the original book were created on the Epson 10000 and printed on Epson watercolor paper using the Epson 10000 at Digital Plus, New York. The edition was bound by Judith Ivry. All copies are signed by poet and artist. 16 hors commerce, 25 for sale.
