SUSAN BEE is a painter and book artist living in NYC. A solo exhibition of her work was held at the A.I.R. Gallery in Soho during the spring of 2000. Bee is the co-editor of M/E/A/N/I/N/G: An Anthology of Artists' Writings, Theory, and Criticism. She has previously created visual counter-texts for poems by Charles Bernstein in five books: Log Rhythms (Granary Books), Little Orphan Anagram (Granary Books), The Occurrence of Tune (Segue), Fool's Gold (Chax Press), The Nude Formalism (Sun & Moon) and, with Susan Howe, Bed Hangings (Granary Books).

JOHANNA DRUCKER has been making artists' books since 1972. She is currently the Robertson Professor of Media Studies in the English and Literature Department at the University of Virginia. Her critical publications include The Visible Word (University of Chicago Press), Theorizing Modernism (Columbia University Press), The Century of Artistsą'Books (Granary Books), Figuring the Word (Granary Books), and her artists' books include: Nova Reperta and Emerging Sentience, both created with Brad Freeman and published by JabBooks and Narratology (Druckwerk).
