Authors' Bio

Renée Riese Hubert is the author of several books of poetry and a number of important scholarly books including Surrealism and the Book (University of California Press, 1987) and Magnifying Mirrors: Women, Surrealism, and Partnership (University of Nebraska Press, 1994). Editor of two anthologies on artists' books: The Artist's Book: The Text and its Rivals and Metamorphoses of the Book she is Professor Emerita at the University of California, Irvine.

Judd D. Hubert's many books include Corneille's Performative Metaphors (Rookwood, 1997) and Metatheater: The Example of Shakespeare (University of Nebraska Press, 1991). He is Professor Emeritus at the University of California, Irvine. As co-translators the Huberts' have recently republished The Adventures of Telemachus by Louis Aragon (Exact Change, 1997).
