For Anselms Kitchen. Piero Heliczer. N.p. 1960.

For Anselms Kitchen.

N.p., 1960. Item #1398

Original college, approx. 10 1/4 x 12 in. This work was made on the backside of a disassembled Kellogg’s Corn Flakes box and employs the words “poets dining." The collage portrays a table arrangement with a photo of James Joyce at the center flanked by Alexander Pope, Napoleon Bonaparte, Michael Horovitz, and a horse racing jockey. The inscription reads “For Anselms Kitchen helizcer 22.iii.1960.” Anselm is Anselm Hollo, one of Piero’s closest friends in London at the time. The work is in very good plus or better condition. The collage materials are somewhat fragile though holding together quite well. The inscription piece is loose. There is evidence that it may have been attached to the verso or to another piece of paper (now missing) adjoining the inscription to the collage. A lovely work and a wonderful association.

Price: $4,500.00
