Screen print in black and red on white stock, 15 3/4 x 22 3/8 in. This is no. 5 from an edition of 5 copies signed by Furnival and Moore. “This print was produced for Satie’s Faction and relates to a series of prints featuring road signs emblems that John has drawn throughout his career. The music, depicting a Colonel who plays golf, it taken from Satie’s Sports et Divertissements.” (Moxham, curator, Lost for Words: The Work of John & Astrid Furnival, p. 34.) A. Doyle Moore was introduced to fine printing as a student of Harry Duncan at the Univ. of Iowa in 1959. He was the proprietor of the Finial Press as well as a professor at the Univ. of Illinois. A very clean bright fine copy with evidence of a shallow bend to lower right corner.
