Fleeing Madly South (Poems 1962–1966).

Clothesline Editions, 1967. Item #3223

Side-stapled mimeograph, 8 1/2 x 11 in. Cover by Bill Beckman. Includes "Note on Jim Brodey's Poems & Him," by Ted Berrigan.

This is Brodey's first book, published by his own press, Clothesline Editions (also known as Jim Brodey Books, which published Eileen Myles' first book) (From a Secret Location). While he considers his "first real book" to be Blues of the Egyptian Sky (1975) by Bill Berkson's Big Sky Books, this is nevertheless his first chronological publication (Nick Sturm, "Differing Freak Wonder").

This copy is inscribed to Joanne [Kyger] in 1967.

A very good copy, lightly toned and soiled at extremities, 1 in. bend to upper right corner of back cover. Scarce item.
