Of the work, artist team Ligorano/Reese write "Medialogical Displacements predates The Corona Palimpsest using film and video images from television and Universal Film newsreels, set in colored frames based on SMPTE color bars. The images are video printouts from Betacam videotape composited with a Grass Valley 300 video switcher and ADO (Ampex Digital Optics). Ligorano Reese made use of this broadcast television editing process before Adobe Photoshop became popular. Front covers refer to barcodes, tabloid headlines and Josef Albers. The text is a cut-up to be read in multiple ways."
