Ten broadsides, approx 11 3/4 x 17 1/2 in. This series was commissioned by Robert Hawley in 1964 and comprises the first publications of Oyez Press. 350 copies were printed on hand- or mould-made paper of which 27 were signed and sold in portfolios. Beautifully designed and letterpress printed at The Auerhahn Press. Michael McClure, Centaur; Brother Antoninus, The Rose of Solitude; Josephine Miles, In Identity; Robert Duncan, Wine; Robert Creeley, Two Poems; David Meltzer, The Blackest Rose; Denise Levertov, City Psalm; Charles Olson, Signature to Petition; Gary Snyder, Hop, Skip, and Jump; and William Bronk, The Cipher. A complete set of the 10 broadsides (though not numbered and signed in portfolio). (See Johnston, pp. 86–87.) Condition ranges from very good plus to very fine. Centaur has a library date stamp to upper left corner.
