Ten broadsides, approx 11 3/4 x 17 1/2 in. This series was commissioned by Robert Hawley in 1964 and comprises the first publications of Oyez Press. Beautifully designed and printed by Hawley's partner, Stevens Van Strum at Auerhahn Press. 350 copies were printed on hand- or mould-made paper from Wookey Hole, England, of which 27 were signed and sold in portfolios. Michael McClure, Centaur; Brother Antoninus, The Rose of Solitude; Josephine Miles, In Identity; Robert Duncan, Wine; Robert Creeley, Two Poems; David Meltzer, The Blackest Rose; Denise Levertov, City Psalm; Charles Olson, Signature to Petition; Gary Snyder, Hop, Skip, and Jump; and William Bronk, The Cipher. A complete set of the 10 broadsides (though not numbered and signed in portfolio). (See Johnston, pp. 86–87.) Condition ranges from very good plus to very fine. Centaur has a library date stamp to upper left corner.
