Very nice complete set of C Comics, nos. 1–2.
C Comics, no. 1. Side-stapled wrappers, 8 ½ x 14 in. Cover and drawings by Joe Brainard. Lorenz Gude, publisher. Collaborative comic strips by Bill Berkson, Robert Dash, Edwin Denby, Kenward Elmslie, Barbara Guest, Kenneth Koch, Gerard Malanga, Frank O’Hara, Ron Padgett, James Schuyler, Johnny Stanton, Tony Towle, Tom Veitch, and Joe Brainard. This is a very good plus copy with staples holding well. The front cover is very lightly soiled and with a bit of age-darkening. The rear cover is likewise lightly soiled and with a bit of age-darkening. There is a light fold to the upper right corner of the rear cover, c. ½ in. x 3 ½ in. affecting the cover and next to last page. Near the middle staple of rear cover is a snag c. ½ in. in diameter. The interior is fine. A somewhat fragile and unwieldy mimeographed item.

Collaborative comic strips with John Ashbery, Bill Berkson, Ted Berrigan, Joe Brainard, Kenward Elmslie, Dick Gallup, Barbara Guest, Kenneth Koch, Frank Lima, Frank O’Hara, Ron Padgett, Peter Schjeldahl, Jimmy Schuyler, and Tony Towle. Fine, clean and bright with sharp corners with a tiny nick to foot of spine.
