Hog Wild. Susie Timmons. Frontward Books. 1979.

Hog Wild.

Frontward Books, 1979. Item #2829

Side-stapled mimeograph, cover and drawings by the poet. The poet's scarce first book with Frontward Books, a press run by Bob Rosenthal and Rochelle Kraut that published Ted Berrigan, Alice Notley, Bob Holman, Ed Friedman, and many others as part of the so-called third wave of New York School poetry (From a Secret Location).

Wave Books released Timmons' Superior Packets in 2015, which anthologizes this early and scarce work alongside her other early books. Ed Friedman reviewed Hog Wild in L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E 11 (January 1980):

“Susie Timmons goes nutso genius and what appears looks like a poem and it’s definitely okey-doke. ‘We are the Spanish Harps / Vwing Vwing Vwing.’ ‘Keep on going old sappy head.’ More than okey-doke. As good as going to see Superman or eating breakfast.”

This is from an edition of 350 copies published at The Poetry Project at St. Mark's Church. Near fine, with some minor toning to back covers and at edges of front.
