Certificate of Authenticity.
Self published, n.d. Item #3088 It seems obvious to me that someone who has the ability to falsify a work of art (whether drawing, painting, sculpture…) will also have the ability to falsify the respective certificate. So, and 'extremely concerned about this issue,' I decided to create a Certificate of Authenticity that is effectively authentic. The initial project (in 2018) was to print this certificate on canvas, measuring 100x150 cm, in an edition of 10 copies, numbered and signed, but in the meantime, I made this edition on paper (in 2020), with a print run of 100 numbered and signed copies."
Broadside, 11 7/16 x 8 1/4 in.
From the artist:
"I have always found it redundant for a contemporary artist (especially if he is alive...), to create a work of art, sign it (as is common in these cases...) and then initial or sign a 'paper' saying that this work is authentic (supposedly with the same signature with which you signed the work…).
This is from the edition of 100 copies, numbered and signed by Aguiar. Fine.
