Adventures in Poetry, 1971. Item #3218
Side-stapled mimeograph with serigraph cover by Robert Indiana. Printed on The Poetry Project at St. Mark's Church's mimeograph machine. Godfrey remembers that Fagin collaborated with Bill Katz to convince Robert Indiana to contribute the cover of this work. The cover is an original serigraph by Indiana, produced at Bouwerie Editions by Bill Katz. Per Godfrey's recollection, Indiana had never produced a serigraph prior to this work.
Godfrey had been writing poetry since 1965, drawing inspiration from the poetry scene in New York City at the time; this was his first book.
This is from an edition of 300 copies, of which 26 were lettered and signed by the poet and artist. This is letter X, signed by Godfrey; though called for, we have not encountered a copy signed by Indiana. Fine.
