Side-stapled mimeograph. The cover by Raphael Soyer is a photograph of a painting of the author. The first book by this African-American fiction writer who attended Bernadette Mayer's workshop and would become well known for her detective novels, often featuring a saxophone-playing heroine.

This is from an edition of 350 copies of which 10 are numbered and signed. Very good, cover a bit toned and with a spot to lower left corner of front cover. Interior fine.
