Country Rush.
Adventures in Poetry, 1973. Item #3227
Side-stapled, mimeograph, 26 pp., with four internal drawings and cover by Yvonne Jacquette. The poet's first book.
At the time, Owen was also editing Telephone magazine, printed on The Poetry Project at St. Mark's Church's mimeograph machine, the same machine that Larry Fagin used to print the Adventures in Poetry imprint. Telephone is considered one of the foremost mimeograph magazines of the era, for its inclusiveness and scope.
The artistic collaboration in Country Rush is notable; Owen would again collaborate with Jacquette on the book Erosion's Pull, published in 2004 by Granary Books and later Coffee House Press.
Though lacking an edition statement on the colophon, the Adventures in Poetry catalogs published by Fagin note this as from an edition of 376 copies, of which 26 are lettered and signed by the poet and artist. This is from the regular edition.
Near fine, with some shelf wear and toning.
