Side-stapled and glued in pictorial wrappers, featuring Whalen's drawings and calligraphy reproduced in holograph. The book contains "doodles and poems" by Whalen, which he notes were all written with a fountain pen and "more for the pen's benefit and instruction than they were for mine or for that of the public." Inscribed to Joanne Kyger, "this copy is for Joanne with love from Philip Whalen," dated November 13th, 1966.
Very good, with some shelf wear to covers and foxing to the edges of the textblock. There is a mild curling to the right of the staples, likely from being opened to read pieces within that approach the gutter.
