SUN, vol. 3, nos. 2–3. Summer 1971.

Item #4106

Smyth-sewn in wrappers. SUN emerged from the collapse of Sundial, a literary magazine started at Columbia University by undergraduate Lawrence Susskind in 1966. (The sundial at the center of 116th Street, which runs through the campus, offered its name as a hub of activity.) SUN was edited by Bill Zavatsky, and this marks the first issue published as SUN. Contributors include: Paul Auster, Glen Baxter, Joseph Ceravolo, Jacques Dupin (Paul Auster, trans.), Alan Feldman, Daniela Gioseffi, Gerrit Henry, Marc Kaminsky, David Lehman, Phillip Lopate, Gerard Malanga, Kathleen Norris, Michael O’Brien, Gregory Orr, Ron Padgett, Carter Ratcliff, Peter Schjeldahl, Hugh Seidman, Harvey Shapiro, Johnny Stanton, Mark Strand, Paul Violi, Don Weingarten, Trevor Winkfield, Andrea Wyatt, and Bill Zavatsky, among others.

Near fine.
