Star Wars: Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina.
Bantam Spectra, 1995. Item #4134
Perfect bound. Anthology containing 16 short stories about the Mos Eisley Cantina from the "Star Wars" universe. The second story, "A Hunter's Tale: Gredo's Fate," is co-authored by the poet Tom Veitch and his wife, Martha Veitch. Veitch was the editor of the little magazine Tom Veitch Magazine and a poet associated with The Poetry Project at St. Mark's Church on the Bowery, where he was published by Larry Fagin and taught Maureen Owen how to use a mimeograph machine. He was also active in the world of comics, both underground and mainstream, collaborating with Greg Irons, Rick Veitch, and later Cam Kennedy, with whom he authored The Light and Darkness War. Their collaboration caught the attention of George Lucas, and Veitch ultimately wrote numerous comic book titles for "Star Wars," among other major franchises.
This copy is from the library of the poet Ron Padgett, and is inscribed to him on the title page.
Very good minus. Mild cockling to the first quarter of the text block and front cover, and some minor shelf wear and staining to the text block, though pages/text are unaffected. An interesting association copy.
