Paper over boards in printed dust jacket. First edition of the final major work of the novelist, poet, and translator Paul Auster. This copy is from the library of the poet Ron Padgett, with his neat pencil signature on the f.f.e., and is inscribed to him and his wife Pat on the title page: "Don't drop this on your foot! With love." Auster previously contributed the foreword to The Collected Writings of Joe Brainard (Library of America, 2012), edited by Padgett.

Near fine with a bump to the top of the spine and in a near fine jacket, with some scuffing to the back. A nice association copy.
