Columbia Review, Vol. 44, no. 2. May 1964.
Item #4150
Side-stapled and glued in paper wrappers. Cover by Joe Brainard and Ted Berrigan. This is the May 1964 issue of the Columbia Review, edited by Phillip Lopate and published roughly one year after the one and only issue of The Censored Review, edited by Ron Padgett and published after Columbia attempted to censor poetry by Ted Berrigan and David Bearden that had previously been accepted for publication in the Columbia Review. This issue includes an editor's note by Lopate, though it is written in reference to the size of the issue (128 pp., in relation to the prior issue, 64 pp.) and not in reference to any censorship issues. Though not stated, this copy is from the library of Ron Padgett.
Contributors include: Alan Feldman, Phillip Lopate, Jonathan Colt, Paul B. Wiener, Miles Orvell, Eric Felderman, Mark Dintenfass, Charles Stein, William Meyers, Joe Brainard and Ted Berrigan, Marc Kaminsky, Aaron Fogel, and Ron Padgett.
Good plus, with toning and shelf wear, and the glue along the edge of the front cover somewhat fragile.
