Side-stapled in fragile, oversized paper wrappers. Program for two plays produced during The Living Theatre's 1959 season: Many Loves, by William Carlos Williams, on January 13, 1959; and The Connection, by Jack Gelber, on July 15, 1959. Many Loves was directed by Julian Beck. Lawrence Kornfeld served as assistant director and Nicola Cernowich was responsible for lighting. The Connection was directed by Judith Malina and designed by Julian Beck, with lighting by Nicola Cernowich and original music by Freddie Redd. Musical accompaniment included Freddie Redd on piano, Jackie McLean on alto saxophone, Larry Ritchie on drums, and Michael Mattos on bass. Program contains full list of actors for each play, along with biographies for production staff, a list of members and supporters, and a membership application.
Very good. Wrappers are fragile, with creases, bends, two minor closed tears on the front cover, and one minor closed tear on the back cover. Program within is toned with some rumpling.
