How To Be a Woodpecker.

Toothpaste Press, 1983. Item #4234

Hand sewn in black paper wrappers with title card tipped onto front. Printed letterpress on Ragston paper by Allan Kornblum and D. Duer. Sewn by A.B. and handset in Optima by Duer.

A five part poem by Padgett with illustrations by Winkfield throughout. This copy is from the library of New York School poet Dick Gallup, a close friend of Padgett's, and is inscribed to him on the title page: "For Mr. Dick Happy birthday, old guy. Love, Ron."

This is from an edition of 600 signed and numbered copies, of which this is no. 536 and is signed by the poet and artist.

Very good minus, with a clean interior, excepting minor offsetting on the end papers from the black wrappers, as expected. Wrappers with scuffing or staining, especially on the front. A nice association copy.

Price: $75.00
