The New Music Review, vol. 1, no. 1. December 1982.

Item #4257

Single sheet, folded once to make a booklet. First issue of an ephemeral music review edited by Wayne Padgett, the son of poet Ron Padgett. This first issue, per the editors, features "the Music Awards for 1982, a year that will go down in infamy in the music world. Actually, nothing really happened in 1982: we're just trying to hype it all up, to sound good, oink." Albums by The Psychedelic Furs, The Dead Kennedys, The Clash, The Beat, Altered Images, Adam Ant, Devo, and Scott Baio are reviewed.

This copy is from the library of the poet Dick Gallup, and was mailed to him by Ron Padgett. On the back, a red arrow drawn by Padgett points at his son's name on the masthead.

Very good minus, with toning and foxing throughout, along with a pencil mark circling the "r" in "bring" as it appears in a paragraph on the cover. A scarce and interesting piece of musical ephemera.
