"Corso: The Last Beat" Collection
This collection primarily chronicles Corso: The Last Beat, a 2009 documentary about the poet Gregory Corso, narrated by Ethan Hawke and directed/produced by Gustave (Gus) Reininger. The archive contains the comprehensive records of Corso: The Last Beat’s production, including autograph, printed typescript, and digital files, as well as photographs, interview tapes, unedited footage, cuts of the film, copies of the film sent to festivals, contracts, and related ephemera. The archive also contains significant bibliographic research in the form of drafts of Bill Morgan’s comprehensive bibliography of Gregory Corso commissioned for the film, as well as original manuscripts, artworks, and correspondence by Gregory Corso collected during Reininger’s work on the film.
